Truffle Hunt – Farm Tour – Cooking Masterclass – Sumptuous Truffle Luncheon
The return of our hugely successful truffle day of indulgence.
The perfect way to explore the mystique of the Perigord Black Truffle and discover why it is known by gourmets as the ‘black diamond’ of fine dining.
On arrival, guests will be greeted with a perfectly prepared Wongarra farm egg with truffle before joining a truffle hunt, participating in a master class on truffle cookery by Michelin-starred French chef and truffle expert Romuald Oudeyer which will showcase the full range of truffle flavours from the savoury to the sweet and go on a tour of the regenerative farming processes being undertaken at Wongarra Farm. This will culminate in a multi-course luncheon and tastings of food prepared by Romuald throughout the day. Guests will be able to purchase truffles and will receive a complimentary recipe book of the dishes prepared and served throughout the day.

A little about our chef for the day, Romuauld Oudeyer:
French born, Romuald Oudeyer has a wealth of experience in the kitchen, having worked in highly renowned restaurants across Europe and Australia.
After completing 6 years of study at Ecole hotelier du Val de Loire, Romuald launched his career at Michelin Star restaurant, Château La Roche Le Roy in the Touraine region in the West of France.
At 21 years of age, Romuald moved to Paris, where he commenced work at Michelin Star restaurant La Truffière – a gastronomic restaurant known for its truffle dishes in the winter, its ever- evolving menu, endless creativity, and perfection all year round. This established Parisian restaurant is where Romuald mastered his sophisticated style of cooking, along side esteemed Chef, Jean- Christophe Rizet.

Wongarra Farm Gourmet Open Day – Saturday 29th April 2017
On Saturday 29 April we will open the gates for farm tours and a special gourmet lunch prepared directly from the paddock.
Autumn will be a celebration of the pig. Chef Romuald Oudeyer will prepare a range of dishes from one of the farm’s Wessex Saddleback pigs including rillette, paté de campagne, pulled pork, a bbq, plus dessert treats from our orchard – YUM! We will also have local ciders and beers available*.
Join us for a tour of the farm, meet the animals, feed the pigs, hear an explanation of our regenerative farming practices and eat a buffet lunch prepared by chef Romu in beautiful surrounds. It is your choice to arrive for tour one or two – so either at 10.30am for farm tour followed by lunch, or 1pm for lunch followed by a tour.
